Welcome Week

New students normally move into their university accommodation the weekend before Welcome starts which is the week before term starts. Online and on-campus events will be run to introduce you to all aspects of university life.

This is your opportunity to get to know your surroundings, learn more about your course and what’s involved in studying, find out about the many societies and sports on offer, discover our support services, and to meet and make new friends.

Make sure you complete the essential tasks in when you arrive.

Collect your UniCard Your UniCard is vital, it gives you access to buildings and identifies you as a member of the University of Exeter.
Academic Induction At your academic induction you will learn more about your course, meet key staff and your peers, and prepare for your studies. See your class timetable call My Day on MyExeter or your department new students webpages for information about your academic induction
Society, Sports, Arts and Culture introduction More information and a full list of events on the Students' Guild, Student Sport and Falmouth and Exeter Students’ Union (The SU) websites.
Complete your Library induction

Complete the online induction to Library Services to learn about the resources and support available. Engaging with the library early on will help you to develop the skills you need to succeed. If you have any questions contact the contact the library.

Library tours and welcome activities will be taking place in our libraries at the start of the academic year. More details to follow.

There will be a wide range of events organised in Cornwall to help you settle in, meet new friends and have some fun. Details will be available on the Falmouth and Exeter Students Union (The SU) website and the events on campus webpage nearer the time.

New Students Guide It's your first year here at Exeter and to help we've pulled together some key and recomended tasks to get you settled into uni life and point you in the right direction.

We strongly encourage you to arrive here in time for Welcome Week (starting Monday 16 September 2024) to make the most of the activities that are planned to help you settle into life at the university. You must arrive at the University and complete online registration by Friday 4 October 2024.

If your travel is delayed and you are not able to arrive at the university before this date, you should complete a late start request form, which will be available here shortly, if you are an undergraduate or postgraduate taught student. Postgraduate research students should contact doctoral.college@exeter.ac.uk

If you are a non-UK national then you must ensure that you arrive here in time to complete International Student Clearance and register by Friday 4 October 2024.

Ticketed events

Some events during Welcome like those organised by SkyBar are ticketed. Tickets for these Welcome events will go on sale on Monday 19 August on the events on campus page.
